Franc has always given great attention to the selection of valuable materials and to the following manufacturing steps which prepare the materials to be cut to design and then to be assembled by our craftsmen.
LEATHER
Most of men's shoes and women's shoes we realize are manufactured by using calfskin.
To realize prestigious shoes through the ancient and traditional method of water tanning, Franc only use strictly domestic calves of medium size, having an age of almost 16 months.
The leather of these calves is almost perfect, with just a few imperfections, and is the only suitable to be water tanned, a tanning method which doesn't change the characteristics of the original leather. To realize prestigious and perfect shoes using the water tanning method it is necessary to use perfect leather without imperfections.
Differently, the chrome tanning method which is now widely used industrially, is a procedure capable of covering the imperfections of leather and making it plain. It's clear that using this type of leather tanning you can use any kind of calves without having to select them carefully.
For the manufacturing of sandals and chanel shoes, Franc prefers to use the kidskin. Using the kidskin give us the opportunity of manufacturing prestigious chanel shoes and sandals, which have nothing to do with the anonymous sandals and chanel shoes of calfskin.
Another type of leather widely used is suede, the only leather that perfectly fits the manufacturing of each kind of shoes and sandals. In this case, Franc exclusively use the real suede, never the crust. The crust is more and more used today to realize cheap suede shoes and to realize the so called "scamosciate" shoes.
Besides, who wants only the best and wants to wear high quality "suede style" shoes, Franc manufactures shoes made with real beaver skin. Unique shoes, prestigious, available in a wide range of amazing colours both for the summer and the winter season.
THE INSOLES
The insoles used by Franc for the manufacturing on men's shoes and women's shoes are strictly of leather, Italian leather. The use of leather insoles is very important so that the shoes may keep the feet cool and hot in every condition.
